See You Later Alligator

Some time ago Bry and I went down to Florida to find him a home. He is moving there soon for work. Instead of showing millions of pictures of houses and condos, lets show pictures of Alligators.

On a day we didn't feel like hunting for houses, we hunted for gators. We stopped at a Dairy Queen for some Blizzards and asked the lady how might be the best way to see some. She talked a little about how we could see some in a secured, safe environment at an Indian reservation somewhere close by and then went on to say to stay away from Highway 27, never go to Highway 27, you will die if you go to Highway 27, yada, yada, yada...

So as we started our trip to Highway 27, we first got in a car accident during rush hour on a Miami freeway. This picture makes it seem like we were the cause of the accident, but I can attest that we were the least to blame in the incident. Many other witnesses can attest the same.

This minor delay and annoyance didn't stop us in our search for wild alligators.
As you will see below, we were pretty successful.

Yes, Bryan is standing a lot closer to the alligator than me.

We think this one is a crocodile?

So all said and done we saw 1 alligator and 1 crocodile on our first everglades adventure. Not so bad!

Farewell for now

Yesterday was my last day at my current (or was, I guess) employer. Another opportunity presented itself and I decided to take it. The best thing about my job was without question the amazing people I worked with.

While I was cleaning out my cube, I found this lovely memory. I used to complain and scream and yell that there never was any chocolate candy bars in our vending machine. What vending machine doesn't have a snickers? It stills amazes me. Anyway, my coworker Emily is very smart and made me a magical vending machine for my birthday. Inside was all my favorite chocolate candy bars.

To wish me farewell, my team voted on going to Johnny Utah's to ride the mechanical bull. They thought it was the appropriate place to go for my farewell party. I don't really get it.

Here is everyone.

Here are the rockin assistants Jaimie and Lauren. I'm excited to see where they go in this crazy industry.

Lauren and me. There are some days Lauren and Jaimie do competitive all the day long and I am very grateful for them. They never complained once.

Me and Kate. Kate was my cube buddy. She can always make me laugh.

I love this picture. Emily and I've have been through a lot together. Weekend adventure telling, boy troubles and successes, and attempting to relate to each other's lives. Emily and I were the only ones who were brave enough to ride the bull.

This is Deb, a very cool superior. I'm not sure what is happening in this picture....

The G TEAM! Kate, Jason, Jaimie, Lauren, and Me. Emily is still riding the bull. :)

I will miss everyone so much. I couldn't have asked for a better group of friends to work with.

Kite flying and Cherry blossoms

Last weekend some friends and I went down to DC to go to the Kite festival and to see the beautiful cherry blossoms. The weather was windy and sunny, perfect for Em's destroyer kite. Some of the pictures you might have seen before - thanks to Em!

This is me and my awesome cousin Mel. As Em and I kept agreeing over the weekend - she's basically the nicest girl you'll ever meet.

This is me trying to figure out the destroyer kite. It was complicated. I was NOT the one to finally figure it out. I think it was Em.

Here is Bryan watching for me to say when.

Look at the 2 handles! I told you this was a serious kite. It almost killed someone at least 5 times. That is why you see other people standing at least 15 feet away from us.

Here is Mel and Darl. It took a few times, but they eventually flew that dragon.

There is the Jefferson Memorial.
