Showing off

My fiance is a world class designer. A while ago he designed a Bell'o TV stand that got rave reviews from customers on Amazon.com. Below are some tidbits:

"Bell'o not only covers that in spades, but has that even more hard-to-find quality -- the feeling that someone actually designed and built this item with pride, and with a determination to do a good job. And with *artistry*. Style. Taste. Craftsmanship. These words don't apply to many things the average person can buy anymore. I wish these guys made regular household furniture, because I'd buy a houseful of it. I'd like to shake the hand of the man or woman who designed and built this thing, and then agreed to sell it for such a reasonable price. In lieu of that, I offer my humble five-star review of the "Bell'o WAVS-341.""

"A beautiful stand as well as a gorgeous piece of furniture. Assembly took approximately one and a half hours. Nicely designed and very unique as far as entertainment centers go. Holds a 52" LCD television very well with ample shelf room for accessory equipment."

And my favorite review:

"If you want a great looking uniquely designed quality TV stand get it."

And here is what it looks like!

Great job sweetie! So proud.

Unemployment

Well, one of the things that comes with unemployment (at least for me) is you remember you have a blog where you can write things and people read them...but probably not in my case considering I haven't updated for 6 months. Bored.

Mug & Mingle

Jules, Megs, and I hosted our 3rd Annual Mug & Mingle a couple of weeks ago. Or was it a month ago? Anyway, it's a great excuse to gather friends and drink apple cider and eat lots and lots of delicious fall-themed desserts. Below are some snapshots of the good times.

New Favorite Thing

Looking at the video now, it doesn't look very impressive. But it was scary, trust me. And they don't pick everyone to do the catch, so I'm pleased with what I accomplished on my first day at Trapeze school.

Below are some still frames.

This was by far the coolest thing I've done in the city yet. I'm going again. And this time I will catch the bar back!

Good Times

This past weekend was the 4th of July. I celebrated our country's birthday by going up to my cabin upstate with some good friends. We ate, talked, slepted, waterskiied, wakeboarded, and tubed till our elbows and knees were raw. It was the best.

Thanks to Dave and Randy, some may have already seen these amazing pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

First, let's introduce everyone.

Me, of course, and my flag cake.

Brooke.

Mike.

Dave.

Randy.

Jim and Emmy. They had fun, I promise.

And Ellie.

Enjoying classic American dinner: Hamburgers, watermelon, corn on the cob and salad. And Diet Pepsi.

Schroon Lake waiting for fireworks.

Randy's wake.

Mike's wake.

My girls!

Me skiing.

My girls 2!

HAHAHAHHAHHAAA. Oh Elles.

Best 4th of July ever!

Friday, May 30, 2008

Today is Friday, May 30th.

In the past 5 weeks, I've spent time in Florida, Washington DC, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Duck Beach (North Carolina), and Los Angeles. For work and pleasure. Tomorrow I fly to Seattle. I'm tired. This morning when I woke up I had no idea what day it was. But now I have about 10 free flights on Jetblue, so that's pretty sweet. Happy Friday!

Sister, Sister

I was the luckiest girl this past weekend - my two best friends in the world came to visit me.

*Note, I know these pictures have been posted on facebook. I just wanted them here for my sake.

The first stop, of course, was the Shake Shack. Yum, yum, yum.

Me and Dani.

Dani and Jackie.

My little cousin's baptism up in Inwood! We had to support this rightous decision. We all look really tall here.

This was my third time seeing A Chorus Line. I love this musical. It makes me feel like I still have a shot at becoming a professional broadway dancer.

And this is me trying to be! Dani and I took my favorite Jazz class, Beginning Jazz at 3 with Deb...Dani is actually a professional dancer so she by far was the best one and I kept talking to her in class so people would think I was cool because I knew her. Note, Beginning Jazz is actually the second level, there is a Basic Jazz class. I'm at least better than Basic.

Frozen hot chocolates (overated, I think Frosties are better) and the banana split sundae. So much goodness.

Sunday we went on a walk. 5th avenue was closed for a bike race or something.

Someday Dani, someday.
